Pentrellyncymer is just over an hour away from Wrexham, not far from Cerrigydrudion on the A5. It is near the Llyn Brenig Reservoir.
4
Pentrellyncymer centre was originally the old village school and the headmaster’s house which was built for the children of the construction workers who were building the nearby Alwen Reservoir at the turn of the twentieth century. The village itself is very rural. There are quite a few farms dotted around, a couple of houses, the old chapel building and the old school which is the centre itself.
5
The centre comprises of 5 children’s dormitories (which sleep 8 children) interspersed with staff bedrooms and the staffroom. Each dormitory is en suite with shower facilities and a separate toilet. The centre has recently been modernised and extended and provides very comfortable accommodation for the children. The building is all on ground floor level, providing wheelchair access to all areas of the centre.
