Examples of Outcomes NI 8 Adult participation in sport –Actions and outcomes Go for it Campaign – Joint partnership working between the Herald Express and Torbay Sports Council to engage facilities and clubs to offer free sessions to encourage physical activity. This was nationally recognised as a quality initiative and has now been implemented elsewhere. Fit for the Future – launched April 09 - one of five pilots in the UK working with Fitness Industry Association and the Department for Culture Media and Sport to offer reduced rate gym membership to 1000 young people in Torbay aged 16 – 22 years old for one year to establish if cost is a major factor why this age group drop out of sport and physical activity. Free Swimming for Over 60s – launched April 09 in partnership with the Department of Health and the Care Trust and the four swimming pools in Torbay. to encourage this age group to take part in swimming activity. Torbay Community Sports Network – Set us this year. A partnership of all agencies in Torbay involved in Sports Development including the fire service, Care Trust, Education, Private Leisure Operators, South Devon College, Youth Services, and County Sports Network. Successful in applying for funding from Active Devon Sports Unlimited programme to offer free activities to young people up the age of 19

Examples of Outcomes 11 businesses in Torbay were given assistance by Envision to reduce their carbon emissions during 2008/09 and a further 14 businesses received over 2 hours assistance from Groundwork UK. Estimates suggest this saved 320t CO2
