Summer Rome Program Who: integrated studio arts and industrial design students classified as juniors or above at the start of summer 2013 Students from other colleges are also welcome! When: June 3-July 31, 2013 Where: College of Design studio facility in the historic center of Rome

Integrated Studio Arts Classes Classes are 3 credits and taught by Brenda Jones, except where noted ArtIS 2/3/438: Painting I, II, III (choose only one) ArtIS 305: Integrative Media ArtIS 490: Independent Study (1-6 credits) Art 495N: Art History Local Rome art historian TBA ArtIS 227: Digital Photography may be added and taught by a local instructor

Industrial Design Classes INDD 495: Study Abroad Option (6 credits) INDD 590: Special Topics: Made in Italy (3 credits) INDD 595: Study Abroad Option (6 credits) ArtIS 227: Digital Photography may be added and taught by a local instructor

Program Apartments Located in the Trastevere area of Rome Within walking distance of studio Apartments for 6-8 students Fully appointed kitchens 2 bathrooms with towels 2-3 bedrooms with bedclothes, pillows Washing machine (no dryers in Italy!) Wireless internet and TV

Costs U-bill expenses include: Program fee Program activities in Rome, faculty support, and CISI medical/evacuation insurance ISU tuition (resident or non-resident) ISU fees Housing Utilities/damages escrow

Costs Out-of-pocket expenses include: Round-trip airfare Passport Local ground transportation Meals Studio key deposit Course materials and photocopying Incidentals

Estimated Costs Residents: estimated $11,000 Non-residents: estimated $16,000 Financial aid packages can be applied to cover the costs of the program Contact: Tara Joyce (tjoyce@) in the Office of Student Financial Aid

Requirements Students interested in participating should… Be at least 18 years old Have a 2.3 cumulative GPA Be accepted into your program of study Not be on academic probation or academic warning in spring 2013 or summer 2013 Be classified as at least a junior at the beginning of summer 2013 If you don’t meet a requirement and you are interested in the program, please e-mail me (efrench@)

Pre-Departure Orientation Pre-departure orientation sessions will be held in March or April Students do not need to enroll in Dsn S 301 this semester as previously stated
