5 Samand Components… 3. Tank valve: This device installed on the tank allows natural gas to flow in during refueling and to flow out to the regulator when running on gas. It is equipped with a manual closing system in the case of an emergency or for maintenance. Depending on the regulations of the market it is destined for, there are versions with additional safety devices, such as for example the excess flow valve (which shuts off or limits gas flow in case of rupture of the gas pipe), or systems that convey gas from the tank to outside the vehicle on reaching certain temperatures or pressures.

6 Samand Components… 4. External refueling valve: This device is installed flush with the bodywork and is directly connected to the natural gas tank. It includes the connection to the refueling system, a built-in check valve, and a second check valve to be fitted on the cylinder valve. It allows refueling with natural gas without needing to open the bonnet.

7 Samand Components… 5. Refueling valve: This device installed in the engine compartment between the tank and the regulator includes connection to the refuelling system and a manual ball device to open/shut off gas in the case of an emergency or for maintenance. Depending on the standards of the market it is destined to, there are versions with different refuelling connections (Italy, New Zealand, NGV1, etc.). During petrol operation and with the engine switched off, the flow of natural gas is cut off by the high-pressure solenoid valve on the regulator.

8 Samand Components… 6. Manometer: This device measures gas pressure of tank. It is located on refueling valve.

9 Samand Components… 7. Regulator: The regulator-vaporizer is of the two-stage-with-diaphragm type, and it is heated with the engine coolant by means of a water-gas heat exchanger. Other features are: filter, fuel lock-off, gas temperature sensor, and safety valve. The unit is calibrated for an output pressure of 1.10 bar (95 kPa) higher than the existing pressure in the intake manifold.

10 Samand Components… 8. Injector rail: The CNG fuel stored in the rail is injected by CNG injectors into the intake manifold. The injectors are driven by the CNG ECU. The rail allows to install 3 or 4 injectors in order to cover the entire range of possible applications. CNG pressure and CNG temperature are measured into the injector rail.The injectors are driven with a "peak and hold" actuation. Maximum operating pressure is 250 kPa.

12 Samand Components… 9. Gas filter: This is located between the regulator and the injector rail and it is used to filter the gaseous-state CNG. The filter contains a cartridge that guarantees 80-_m. filtering capacity. Maximum operating pressure is 250 kPa.

13 Samand Components… 10. Electronic Control Unit (ECU): The ECU uses the information from the different sensors and using the program and mappings in its memory

14 Samand Components… 11. Switch indicator: 2 positions CNG/petrol selector and fuel type indicator with two leds. Gas tank level display using 5 leds. Operating diagnostics.

15 Samand Components… 12. Vacuum pressure sensor: This device continuously measures the pressure inside the intake manifold and output regulator. It is of the Piezo-electric pre-selections type (pressure-controlled sensor).

16 Samand Components… 13. Advancer: These devices change the engine spark advance when running on natural gas and restore the original spark advance every time you switch on to petrol supply. The increase in spark advance during the higher octane gas operation improves engine performance.
