The novel Originally published by the George M. Hill Company in Chicago on May 17, 1900, it has since been reprinted numerous times, most often under the name ”The Wizard of Oz” The novel is one of the best- known stories in American popular culture and has been widely translated. The original book has been in the public domain in the US since 1956.

The story The story chronicles the adventures of a young girl named Dorothy and her dog Toto, in the magic Land of Oz, after being swept away from her Kansas farm home in a cyclone. The good witch of the North, Glinda, advises Dorothy to follow the yellou brick path up to the Emerald City, where she can meet the Wizard of OZ, the only able to send her back to the Kansas.

The story - 2 During the trip, Dorothy meets the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and a coward Lion, who accompany her on her way, in the hope they get what they lock: brains, a heart, courage. All the characters try to keep far from the Bad Witch of the West, who wants to lay hold of the ruby shoes that Dorothy got from Glinda.

Epilogue Frank Baum’s story tells about the power of the dream, of friendship and of the desire to become better. Dotothy, the Tin Man, the Lion and the Scarecrow go to the wizard of OZ, undergoing an imaginary trip beyond the Rainbow, trying to cure their foibles, as well. Together with Toto, dwarfs and witches, they discovered in the Emerald city the magic of truth and love among people. Although the family in Kansas considered the trip of the little orphan girl, Dorothy, but a mere dream, this shows how prosaic adults are. Only a pure child’s soul can understand that at home, among the dear family members, everything becomes great when coming back, from time to time, from a fantastic trip.

Epilogue Having the experiene of the trip, you know how to change bad to good, you have become much wiser, and much attentive to those around you.
