4 * The Arguments I. Mind and body are connected 1. The Hebrews: “People think with their harts and feel with their bowels” 2. Aristotle “the soul is not separable, and the same holds true for parts of the soul” II. The mind and body are separate I. Socrates and Plato: The mind continues after death II. Descartes: animal spirits flowed through the body through nerves
