8 Monday September 30: Bosons & More Thank You Party for the LHC construction & physics results ≈ 9000 people, i.e CERN staff, CERN users and CERN industrial support plus partner * 70% Evening event with good food, music and spectacular show Details on following slide:

9 Details Bosons&More Venue: Close to the globe: large stage, open space in front, 4 big tents behind... Food: Stress the internationality of CERN: one food stand per memberstate and major observer states Drinks : all free, except only 2 alcoholic drinks free per person Stage program: - OSR plays Beethoven with some surprise - 2 contemporay music acts (well known, memorable)  discussions ongoing, try small budget, if not: use cover bands

LOGISTICS SURFACE ACTIVITIES AND INFO DESKS Rental/loan equipment for stands and exhibitions, material for info desks, preparation of halls and areas on site for special performances 5.VISITORS FLOWS Control and information of queues on electronic displays, organization and distribution of slots for underground visits (reservations on the web and competitions (earn your descent) 6. CERN CAMPUS Organization and coordination of visits and acivities programme on the surface in Meyrin and Prévessin

EXHIBITIONS and ENTERTAINMENT Organization and coordination of special performances and exhibitions from outside CERN: Residential Artists Show, Laser Projections, 50 Nobels… includes dedicated fundraising of these activities 8. SPS underground Visit itineraries and surface programme at access points to the the SPS UAs 9. LHC UNDERGROUND VISITS Organization and coordination of the vists and surface activities of the 8 LHC IPs (within reasonable limits at 3 & 7) 10. LECTURES, PROJECTIONS, Guest Stars Organization and coordination of a programme of presentations, explanations, lectures, films and special guest participation (some of which overlapping with Nuit des Origines, such as Peter Higgs, Brian Cox, Stephen Hawkings, ISS crew…) 11. AV SUPPORT AND EQUIPMENT Supply and management of the extra AV equipment needed over the entire period 28-30 Sept. 12. INDUSTRY & Partners day Organization of the Industry day programme, industry guests welcome (before and during event) and partnerships coordination

GRAPHICS, WEB, BRANDING and MERCHANDISING Design and implement dedicated events’ logo, website look and feel for the 3 events, publicity material and objects to be merchandised a the central and satellite shops (28-29 Sept.). Includes dedicated webmaster 14. COMMUNICATION & Press relations Communication of the events to the press and target audience; media partnerships 15. Locals’ relations & publicity Establish and coordinate partnerships with the LHC communes and implement a local communication plan to promote the event and manage the participation of the locals 16. Catering and refreshments points Coordination of the 3 CERN restaurants for the organization of refreshment points around all the itineraries; Organization of refreshment stands on Bosons&more day 17. Bosons&More programme Propose, coordinate and implement entertainment programme for the Bosons&more event on Sept. 30 18. 20 76 000 Visitors in 2 days, 34 000 underground! 5 April (CERN personnel and family/friends): 23,000 of which 11,000 visited the tunnels (LHC + SPS). 6 April (general public): 53,000 of which 23,000 visited the tunnels (LHC + SPS). Media: 56 media from 13 different countries with 85 journalists visiting on site, resulting in 200 press articles Lectures: 53 lecturers (including two Nobel laureates), and 20 conference rooms running in parallel on the CERN site and in the communes around the LHC ring.
