5 Pickaway County will be a community where people with developmental disabilities are encouraged to achieve their goals and lead enriched lives through self-advocacy and community partnership. PCBDD PROPOSED VISION STATEMENT

7 Strategic Issue One: Ensure People Served Receive Person-Centered Supports to Achieve Meaningful Outcomes.  Goal: ISPs are unique, driven by persons served, and outcome focused.  Goal: Vocational supports are person-centered and do not have duplicative language.  Goal: Expand community connection and outreach to promote natural support.  Goal: Increase trainings for and interaction with providers to improve service delivery and enhance person-centered services.

8 Strategic Issue Two: Ensure Services are Provided in the Most Effective, Efficient, and Compliant Manner.  Goal: Explore measures to decrease waiting list.  Goal: Review agency policies and procedures within an ongoing three-year rotation.  Goal: Conduct annual social engineering audits.  Goal: Review processes for efficiency and opportunities to streamline.  Goal: Establish a workgroup of staff from various departments to analyze IT issues, propose solutions and monitor successful implementation to fix problems.  Goal: Develop two shared living arrangements per year.

9 Strategic Issue Three: Increase Self-Advocacy Efforts in Pickaway County.  Goal: Implement a Speakers Bureau through People First.  Goal: Promote self-advocacy through Board financial support of self-advocacy organizations and training.  Goal: Address self-advocacy in transition-aged youth.

10 Strategic Issue Four: Promote Good Life and Positive Culture within PCBDD and with PCBDD partners.  Goal: Train advocates within People First to share Good Life concepts with the community.  Goal: Identify opportunities to entwine Good Life training with related events (Board meetings, HRC meetings, Special Olympics events, etc.)  Goal: Annually conduct a minimum of three full trainings of Good Life and Positive Culture for groups within Pickaway County.  Goal: Enhance county board relationships with providers through facilitation of networking opportunities and recognition events.

11 Strategic Issue Five: Improve and Enhance Evidence-Based Practices in Early Intervention  Goal: Attend seminars and trainings of Ohio evidence-based practices.  Goal: Develop a checks and balances process to ensure fidelity of evidence-based practices.

12 Strategic Issue Six: Continue to Increase Awareness Efforts for PCBDD.  Goal: Establish a workgroup to research gaps in public relations and create a strategic communication plan.  Goal: Develop systems to communicate events and self-advocacy opportunities to providers so as to encourage individuals to participate.  Goal: Create a smartphone app, with push notification capabilities, to share events and important communication.

13 Strategic Issue Seven: PCBDD Affiliates Engage in Meaningful Ways with PCBDD.  Goal: Develop a network of community members to be involved in people’s lives and increase access to community activities.  Goal: Connect providers/ guardians with training resources.  Goal: Provide individuals and families with meaningful information about provider resources.  Goal: Host DODD required annual training.

14 Strategic Issue Eight: Expand Collaborative Efforts That Provide Improved Educational Outcomes in Integrated Settings.  Goal: Implement Brooks-Yates School Strategic Plan.

15 Strategic Issue Nine: Identify and Implement Strategies to Reach DODD’s Benchmark of 50% of Appropriate Board Eligible Candidates Working in Community Employment.  Goal: Increase community employment by 5% each year of the three- year plan.  Goal: Explore summer work experience partnership with JFS and other alternative programs, and utilize employment providers as job coaches.  Goal: Develop a pool of independent providers certified in employment first/ job coaching.
