Research indicates demographic shifts in enrolment Goal to create strategies for non-direct enrollment and grow the numbers of new enrolments over 5 years 6 tactical groups created to address different strategies

WORKING GROUPS Comprehensive Follow-up with Ineligibles An enrolment enhancement project that systematically aims to personally connect with applicants previously deemed to be ineligible for admission and to offer, if possible, other alternatives and transitioning supports to achieve registered student status using a best practice applicant service model. Community Outreach Project to Adult, Alternative and Continuing Education Agencies An enrolment enhancement project that envisions growing and enhancing meaningful working relationships with Community Agencies that provide alternative educational services to promote additional referral and admission of non-directs into Fanshawe College.

PARTNERS EMPLOYMENT AND ENTREPRENEURIAL SERVICES COMMUNTIY EMPLOYMENT SERVICES An Employment Ontario Service Provider Two locations, one co-located with Literacy and Basic Skills (ACE) and Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) Many clients are seeking education as a pathway to employment Over 2000 clients annually Two employment consultants co-deliver the workshop

13. PROPOSITION Create a two day workshop designed to introduce potential future students to career development, career choices and Fanshawe College as a viable option. Have it delivered on campus and make it free! Offer food!

Registrar’s Office – refers to it and promote Counselling And Accessibilities – reviewed content for understanding and has helped coordinate interpreters Student Financial Services – talks about budgeting, bursaries, OSAP Marketing and Brand Management – Markets and provides tours for the workshop Access Studies – Refers people who are considering Fanshawe as destination after ACE Parking – checks people off the list when we do parking passes President’s Office – in the past did welcome

PROMOTION Engage magazine - back inside ad for FYF (delivered mid- March across southern Ontario) Open House - postcards printed to give out at Open House on April 2 Social media - Facebook event created on main College page after last workshop in March, social media posts scheduled for the next three weeks through Facebook and Twitterevent Website - event created on main upcoming events pageeventupcoming events Email - new ‘Adult Learner’ leads from Pathfinder and web inquiry forms continue to receive an email that promotes the workshops as they’re added to the CRM ( 1 st email generated 7 registrants in less than 12 hours!)

24. PARTICIPANTS “I would like to thank you and the team for putting together such an informative workshop. The financial information and links that you've provided will be invaluable in my preparation for returning to school. I am still interested in attending the Horticulture course offered by Fanshawe with interest in Landscape Design, which leads into a Bachelor for Environmental Design. However one thing at a time. Moving forward, I will be following up with Brian to help me continue with the second career path of funding as well as researching some of the hidden funds that I became aware of through the workshop. My end goal will be in working with the environment on a conservatory, renewable, sustaining level. With this plan I know there will be much continuing education through the remaining years, leading me to the discouraging thoughts that I have against returning to school at my age, which is a struggle that I will face. The encouraging attitude of everyone that I met through the workshop help to keep those negative feelings at bay and the goal in sight. Thank you again and I hope to see you in my future at Fanshawe”

25. PROMISING RESULTS To date, there have been 42 participants in the workshop. Of those 42 participants, 25 of them have gone on to apply for programs and/or have started programs at Fanshawe. 3 of them are currently working on upgrading and plan to apply for the 2017 academic year. 60% conversion rate!!!
