1 An activity in which you will create, analyze and interpret thematic maps.

2 You will create three thematic maps. You will use your maps to analyze relationships between the different thematic maps to hypothesize why conditions could/would occur.

5 COUNTY: You will draw for the country you will be studying. RESEARCH: Begin with your textbook. Go to Unit 3, Continent Maps. You can then use the internet to research additional maps of your assigned country. Use the questions on the following page to determine which thematic maps you will create.

6 1. What landforms/physical features do you see? 2. What type of climate do they have? 3. What is the natural vegetation? 4. As time passed how did the area change? 5. How did people impact the physical environment? 6. How did the population grow? 7. Can you see the relationship between your thematic areas? 8. ETC…

7 T = Title (What type of map and name of country) O = Orientation (Compass Rose) D = Date A = Author (You) L = Legend (Key, make sure the Legend DOES provide all information for interpreting the map) S = Scale (Convert the area to size) S = Source (Where did you find your information? Make sure to document all sources.)
