Orthographic Drawing Orthographic projection is a means of representing a three-dimensional object in two dimensions. How engineers or designers communicate their ideas Typically depict 3 or more views of an object All views line up with each other, either horizontally or vertically. Always labeled Should include dimensions

Orthographic Drawing Always start with the front view (this should be the view with the most detail) Next, should be the side view (notice the lines are exactly aligned horizontally with the front view) Finally, the top view (notice the lines are exactly aligned vertically with the front view) Sometimes you may need additional views

Orthographic Drawing Don’t forget to dimension your drawing (notice how the actual dimension is in the center)
