1 Holiday Rec Program Children ages 5 – 13 are invited to attend the City of Fortuna’s Rec program. Hours are 7:30am - 5:30pm. Fees are $20/day or $15/half day. Discounts for siblings. Your child will need their own lunch, snacks, drinks & a jacket. Activities may include cooking, arts & crafts, skating, movies, outside play. Pre-register. Dates: April 1 st – 5 th CPR Class is taught by Rus Brown, American Heart Association Instructor & Asst Fire Chief in Fortuna. Refresher class is $35. Initial class is $45. Space is limited so sign up now. Please call Christina at the Park Office at 725-7620 for more information. Ballet Classes offered by Trinity Ballet Academy. Zumba is a zesty Latin based dance & fitness workout. Class is taught on Tues/Thurs 6pm at the Rec Hall. Cost is $5. The hours are 7:30am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. The costs are $90/week, $20/day, $15/half day (7:30am – 12:30pm or 12:30pm – 5:30pm). Discounts for siblings & multiple weeks. Partial grant funding available. Summer Fun is for graduating 1st graders to graduating 8th graders. Kiddie Kamp is offered for ages 4 - graduating kindergartens. Must be potty trained. Class is $40 for a 4 hr class taught by Rus Brown. Painting Class This acrylic painting class is for all skill levels. Instructor, Penny Saville Fregeau, teaches classes to Teens through Adults. Teen class: Mon, 3:30 – 5:30pm, starts April 11 th. Teens through Adults class: Thurs 9am – 11:30am, starts with minimum enrollment of 6. Contact the Park Office to be enrolled.

2 Fortuna’s Depot Museum is located in Rohner Park. The depot was originally built in 1893 and located at the foot of 7th Street. As part of the nation’s Bicentennial celebration,the city moved the depot to Rohner Park and converted it into Fortuna’s museum of local history. The museum’s grand opening was held on July 4, 1976. Exhibits feature railroads, logging, fishing, farming and ranching, local Native American culture, a general store, and the daily lives of those who for generations called Fortuna “home.” Other highlights include the Rohner Room, dedicated to the Swiss immigrant family who donated much of the land that became Rohner Park, and Northwestern Pacific Caboose # 11, built in 1909 and donated to the museum by the Noble family in 2006. Visitors are welcome to use the local history research materials in the Reference Room, including a complete set of Fortuna Union High School Megaphone yearbooks from 1906 to the present. Winter hours: Noon-4:30 pm, Thursday - Sunday. Summer hours: Noon-4:30 PM, 7 days a week. No fee. Prearranged tours are available by calling 725-7645. Skating at the Firemen’s Pavilion Private skate parties include skating, basketball, dancing, sock hockey and many more activities. Music is provided or bring your own. Rates: $75 for the first 30 skaters & $2/person for additional skaters. Parties are up to 2 hours in length with skating staff provided. Parties must be booked at least 7 days in advance. Stop by or call the Parks Office for available dates. Reservations may be made over the phone with a credit card. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Unable to accommodate you with a private skate party then here is another idea…… Reserve in advance a table for $30, receive 2 free skate passes. Additional cost for skate tickets, prepaid or pay at door. Times available are Fri & Sat 6:30– 9:30pm. Form and fee must be paid at Park Office no later than the Wednesday before by 5 PM. Public skate is held Friday & Saturday, 6:30 – 9:30pm Cost: Ages 6 & older - $5, ages 5 & under - $3. Skates are included. Personal skates must be checked by skate staff. Purchase paid in advance skate tickets at Park Office, Mon – Fri, 8am - 5pm. $20 for 5 tickets ages 6 & up, $12 for ages 5 & under. FORTUNA SENIOR BUS Looking for transportation, you no longer drive or the weather isn’t well? Look no further. The City of Fortuna offers transportation within the city limits for seniors (ages 50 & older) and disabled (any age). Two buses operate Mon – Fri, 8:30am to 4pm and the first Saturday of each month, 9am to 12pm. It is a reservation & dispatcher based system, which means you call dispatchers to schedule the times you need the bus. Cash fare $1.50 each time you board the bus or purchase a card for $20, which is good for 16 trips. Call 725-7625 for questions about fares or to schedule reservations and return trips, Monday – Friday between 8am – 5pm. We are here to help you! ROHNER RECREATION HALL RENTAL ~ $20/hr Fortuna Resident - $25/hr Nonresident & $50 Refundable Deposit Humboldt Resource Fortuna Dining Center: For a limited time, thanks to a generous donation from Hops In Humboldt, the Senior Transit will provide free rides to and from the lunch site.
