Parent FAQ –EXPLORE results are included in portfolio. –The EXPLORE, like all standardized tests, are only an insight to what a student has learned and can demonstrate. –The EXPLORE will help students, parents, teachers and counselors gain an insight to student needs and course scheduling upon entering high school.

Estimated PLAN Score The EXPLORE Test results provides an estimate for the PLAN Test. The PLAN is a 10 th grade test that helps estimate your ACT score. EXPLORE has a range of 1-25 PLAN has a range of 1-32. The ACT has a range of 1-36.

Student Score Percentiles- (% of students that scored at or below your score) Student individual results are compared to student percentiles in the nation, SHMS, School District 196.

National Quartiles 68% of SHMS 8 th graders composite scores fall into the top half of the national scores. In other words, 50% of the nation had a composite score range between 14-25 inclusive, whereas, SHMS had 68% of its students scoring between 14-25.
