When do I apply? Scope of Practice Are you educationally prepared? Are you confident? Are you competent? DON’T FORGET TO LET THE BOARD KNOW!

Why do I have to sit an oral examination? What is the role of the Board? Allows for independent assessment of safety and competence Provides you with the opportunity to demonstrate and articulate your ability to manage and assess and manage routine and complex care situations Your chance to shine!

What questions will I be asked? Varies for each applicant BUT key themes: How does your role differ from other advanced practice roles? How do you know you make a difference? What is your rationale for the clinical decisions you make? What do you do when a patient ’ s needs are outside your scope of practice? How do you communicate the role to your peers and colleagues? What are your future directions for the role
