4  Is the commandment of giving strictly for Christians, or is also for Non-Christians?  How and from where should we collect money in order to have a church treasury, or contribution?  Many are saying that the collection that Paul is making reference to, “was something special”, because the churches in Judea were in great distress and also in great poverty. “not a pattern to follow”  Some say that this is “not a pattern to follow” forever, knowing that it was strictly for the poor saints at that time.  So the contribution is no longer needed anymore, they argue!

15  Without display (Mt. 6:1-4)  Because God has appointed that the Church use money in its work (1 Corinthians 16:1,2; Acts 4:34,35; 5:1ff; 11:29; Romans 15:26,27; 2 Cor 11:8; Phili 4:15,16)  Out of zeal for the work of the Lord (Rom. 12:8).

16  To please God (Heb 13:16)  To Be Christ-like (2 Corinthians 8:8-12)  We desire treasure in Heaven (Luke 12:33,34)  To glorify God (2 Corinthians 9:11-13)  To set a good example (2 Corinthians 8:1,2).

17  As stewards of our possessions it is incumbent upon us to use - give, - or spend wisely!  The manner, amount, and quality of that which we give back to the Lord, manifests our love and respect, (honor) for Him, - (Mal 1:6; Prov. 3:9)  Does Jesus notice our manner of giving? (Mark 12:41-44)
