The MahaRudra Mahayagnam 2011 event, the first of its kind in the GCC, is being performed for Loka Kshema - for the good of all mankind as well as for global peace and prosperity, and continual growth of United Arab Emirates, the country where we all comfortably live with the kindheartedness of the Rulers – His Highness Late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan & His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. ‘Yagna’ is performed for happiness and welfare of the entire mankind. Our life depends upon the five elements of nature - Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Space. These elements along with the various forces of nature, sustain life and maintain equilibrium in this planet. By performing yagna, the cycle of nature are replenished and enriched and thereby we fulfill our duty towards nature. When this cycle is broken and the laws are violated, nature makes re-adjustments through earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, emergence of newer destructive micro-organisms, social strife etc. That is why our sasthras prescribe performance of 'panchamahayagnas' daily. In addition, performing the MahaRudra Mahayagnam as a community helps one and all to partake and attain the blessings of the Almighty. The yagna is performed under the guidance of Dubai Sri. Ganesh Vadyar. All are invited to participate in this great occasion and have the blessings of Lord "AADITYAATMAKA RUDRA". The active participation and hearty co-operation of the devotees are earnestly solicited. Dear Devotees, “Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu” - Praying for tranquility among the people over the world at large, DUBAI PRADOSHAM GROUP is conducting MAHARUDRA MAHAYAGNAM on Friday, 11th March 2011 at Emirates English Speaking School, Dubai, UAE.

MAHARUDRAM “MahaRudra Mahayagnam” is one of the highest forms of community worship involving 121 ritwiks in groups of 11 each. This ensemble of ritwiks will recite Mahaanyasam, invoking the 11 Rudras namely Mahadeva, Siva, Rudra, Sankara, Neelalohita, Eesana, Vijaya, Bhima, Devadeva, Bhavothbhava and Adithyathmaka Rudra - in the 11 groups of decorated kalasams. The Mahanyasam will be followed by a Rudra Trisathi archana (300 salutations to Lord Rudra). Then reciting Sri Rudra mantra 11 times, totaling 1331 times, simultaneously performing continuous abishekam to the Shiva Lingam with 11 different dravyams such as Oil, Panchagavyam, Panchamrutham, Ghee, Milk, Honey, Curd, Sugarcane juice, Lemon juice, Tender coconut water and Sandal paste. Following the recital, there is Rudra Homam in the specially erected Homa Kundam. The ‘poornahuti’ signals the grand finale of the Mahayagna. The ‘vasordhara’ that precedes the poornahuti is a special time for all devotees for praying to Lord Shiva for his blessings and benediction. Following the Vasordhara and Poornahuti, ‘Rudra abhishekam’ will be performed on Siva Linga with the charged holy water from kalasams along with chanting of various Sookthams, Upanishad etc. The abhishekam will be followed by alankaram, archanai, deeparadhanai, bhajan, asheervadam, mangala aarathi etc. thereby concluding the MahaRudra Mahayagnam.

SRI RUDRAM The Taittiriya Samhita of the Yajurveda has seven sections (kandas) and Sri Rudram is treasured in the fourth section. It is known as ‘SataRudriya’ (101 shaakhaas), and also Rudraopanishad. It is revered as the "Crown Jewel” and the essence of Yajurveda. The Rudra-Adhyaya, or the SataRudriya, is a great meditation on the cosmos, or the Virat-Swarupa of the Lord, in whom the whole of creation is absorbed in a blend of unity with its own existence. Sri Rudram is also known as Namakam because of the abounding namaskarams (namaha) contained in it, Chamakam is so called on account of the recurrence of the words "cha me" meaning "Lord grant me this and this". The first canto of Sri Rudram seeks the grace of Rudra who is angered by those not following His injunctions (dharma). In the second through the nine cantos the devotee bows unto Him as Sarveshvara, Sarvaatma and Sarvaantaryaami. The 300 glorious names of the lord known as Rudra Trisathi, is derived from these eight cantos. In the tenth canto He is prayed for specific favours. And in the eleventh, the devotee prays to the Rudra Ganas which are His manifestations. Chamakam is placed in the fourth kanda and seventh prapataka of the Yajur Veda. It lists 347 items that are requested from the Lord, from food and other material requirements to the highest of spiritual goals.

POINTS TO BE KINDLY NOTED As much possible try to pool the vehicle for transportation to the Venue in order to reduce convergence of several vehicles to the same destination. Please avoid parking of the vehicle in front of any of the residential villas situated all around the Venue. Park the vehicle in the open ground shown in the location map or any other open area near the Venue duly following the instructions of the Security Staff present at the site. It will be ideal for Devotees to leave the Pada Raksha in their vehicle itself or alternatively leave it at the designated place inside the Venue compound preferably in an orderly manner. Kindly maintain silence in the auditorium. Kindly extend your full co-operation to the Volunteers to enable them to smoothly carry out their tasks. Devotee's sincere support is sought to keep the place of activities tidy.
