Some people believed that imperialism was the only option because of the White Man’s Burden – the responsibility of nations like Britain and the US to overtake and educate poorer, less “civilized” people. Do you think the White Man’s Burden was a legitimate idea or just an excuse for imperialism? Take your time and explain your answer.
