Faith: complete trust or confidence in someone or something; trust without proof.

I don’t believe; I’m struggling to believe I believe Hesitant faith. No faith. Blind faith. Reasonable faith.

It takes faith to believe in God. It takes faith to believe that Jesus died/rose again. But it is a reasonable faith. Faith: complete trust or confidence in someone or something; trust without proof.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6) Faith: complete trust or confidence in someone or something; trust without proof.

It takes faith to believe in God. But it is a reasonable faith. The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. Psalm 19:1-4 The beauty and complexity of the universe call out for a Creator.

It takes faith to believe in God. But it is a reasonable faith. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – His eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20 The beauty and complexity of the world and everything is such that everyone should logically believe that a divine and powerful God is behind it.

It takes faith to believe in Jesus. But it is a reasonable faith. Non-Christian historians wrote about Jesus: Tacitus, 55-117 AD, in Annals, Book XV: Christ was crucified under Pontius Pilate Julius Africanus, 160 – 240 AD, in Chronography, XVIII: during the crucifixion of Christ there was an earthquake and an eclipse from the sixth to the ninth hour.

It takes faith to believe in Jesus. But it is a reasonable faith. Non-Christian historians wrote about Jesus: Josephus, 37-100 AD, in Antiquities of the Jews: the stoning (martyrdom) of “the brother of Jesus, who was called the Christ, whose name was James.” John the Baptist who was put to death by Herod. The teachings, miracles, and crucifixion of Jesus.

It takes faith to believe in God. But it is a reasonable faith. There were eyewitnesses to the death and resurrection of Jesus: We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 2 Peter 1:16

It takes faith to believe in God. But it is a reasonable faith. There were eyewitnesses to the death and resurrection of Jesus: For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Peter and then to the 12. After that, He appeared to more than five hundred at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have died. 1 Corinthians 15:3-6

It takes faith to believe in God. It takes faith to believe that Jesus died/rose again. But it is a reasonable faith. Faith: complete trust or confidence in someone or something; trust without proof.

God, I believe that you are the one true all- powerful and eternal God. I put my complete trust in you even though I can’t see you. I place my complete trust in Jesus Christ who died for my sins and rose again to give me eternal life. I believe He is who He claimed to be: Your Son and my Savior. I give my life and loyalty to Jesus. Help me to boldly share this good news with my family and friends. Amen.
