Sign you up?Sign you up? First things first, speak to a Marine Recruiter. Second, you need to take the ASVAB. Score as high as you can, it never hurts down the road. Do your research because a recruiters job is to fill jobs the Marine Corps needs. Be clear you want to join the infantry. 3

Step 2:Step 2: Sign a Infantry contract with a Marine Recruiter, do not fall for the tricks. You need to request a contract with a recon INDOC guarantee. Be mindful your are joining the most elite American Military branch, you will need to be mentally and physically prepared to be broken down and shaped into a Marine. 4

Next. You will attend a 13 week long Marine Corps Basic Training in either Paris Island, SC or MCRD San Diego. This is the initial training every Marine must endure to receive the title of Marine. Following this will be training at the School of Infantry (SOI). You will be assigned to a Infantry Training Battalion for about two months. Give or take if processing is backed up or not. After all the training.After all the training. If you pass all the training, you will advance to the BRC (Basic Reconnaissance Course). There you will become a recon Marine, one step closer to becoming a sniper. However, if you fail you will be a regular infantryman…. 6

Don’t worry you have other options if you fail.Don’t worry you have other options if you fail.. You can always speak with a career planner once you get assigned to a unit. Every unit has one.. While in a unit ask your fellow Marines on what you should do.. You will have a mentor, ask for advice from him. Never give up on your dreams. 7

Roles of a Scout Sniper 0317 Spotter: Detects, observes and confirms sniper targets, calculates the range and wind conditions on a given target, conducts reconnaissance and surveillance. Sniper: Delivers long-range precision fires on selected targets, conducts reconnaissance and surveillance. 8
