3. 14 3 TIGER News Welcome to our first home game of the season. 2015 was a year the men will remember for many years to come. Not only for taking out the Senior NWBU title after a long, long 34 year’s. Also winning the State League title and to cap it off with the U22 NWBU title. Special mention goes to rookie coach Brad Simpson who coached both the State League and U22 teams undefeated. With a 100% strike rate, will Brad put on the coaches hat again??? A huge thankyou to all our sponsors. Raelene has done an excellent job in getting our sponsors on board, with help from Maxine and Tim. Without these sponsors, the club would not be able to place our senior teams on the floor. Please support our sponsors whenever possible. The club welcomes Rodney and Sam as our coaches for the 2016 season. Both have already made an excellent impact and are looking at having a great season. Tonight we take on the Saints in what should be two good games of basketball. At this stage our female import Tayla Roberts, hopefully might be suiting up for our next home game against Wynyard. The women will be looking for their first win, but will have their work cut out as it looks as though Smithton’s import player April Perry can seriously play after knocking down over 50 points last week. No doubt Rodney and the girls will have a plan to restrict April’s influence on the game. The men certainly flew out of the blocks to record a convincing win over Somerset last week. Sam has the boys playing great team basketball. If the Saints are at full strength, it will be a tight contest. Keep Saturday March 19 th free as all players will be putting on a function. It is the only night of the year we can have all players get together. So come along and have a great nights entertainment. The theme of the night will be announced shortly so stay tuned!!! Our Local Junior roster started on Friday 19 th, with the U10’s and U12 Girls to start this Monday night the 22 nd. For further information contact Raelene or Jules.
