Specification phase Write the business plan –What are business objectives? –How will success be judged? –Financial forecast –How will project be managed? Specification phase Develop a functional specification –Defines in detail how your website will operate –Written in plain English - should be understandable to all stakeholders –Ensures business process issues are resolved up front –Forms the basis of the contract with the IT developer –Define specific standards compliance, browser support, accessibility requirements etc –Prevents ‘scope creep’
