2 Learning Intention Understand Understand how some Jewish children managed to escape Nazi Germany and occupied countries before the war broke out in 1939. Work as part of a group Work as part of a group to research a story about a person on the Kindertransport.

5 Task One – Sequence Activity. 1.In your groups, number yourselves 1, 2, 3 and 4. 2.The class will be split into numbered groups of 4. 1.Number 1s 1.Number 1s – Life in Germany Number 2s Number 2s – Leaving Germany Number 3s Number 3s – Journey to the UK Number 4s Number 4s – Life in the Britain

6 Task One – Sequence Activity. Frank Meisler’s 1.Each group will be investigating a particular stage of Frank Meisler’s story. 2.No one in the group will know the whole story until the whole task is completed. 3.Each person in the group is responsible for creating a picture board / image map about your group’s section of the story. You will then take this back to the original group to help tell your section of the story.

8 Task Two – Storyboard. chronological order 1.Everyone will now return to their original groups and in chronological order, each person will explain their section of the story to the rest of the group. Number 1s Number 1s – Life in Germany Number 2s Number 2s – Leaving Germany Number 3s Number 3s – Journey to the UK Number 4s Number 4s – Life in Britain 2. The whole group will now create a storyboard to show the whole story of Frank’s journey to Britain.
