1.Characteristics Titanium has a lot of properties but the most important are this: Titanium is a great alternative for structural metal in weight and strengh. Is lighter than steel and stronger than aluminium. It has a low heat transfer rate
3
1.2 Properties Titanium is a strong metal with low density. It’s a ductile material. Titanium melting point is about 1,650 ºC Is the 60%more denser than aluminium, but, twice strong.
4
2.How is it obtained Titanium is obtained by mining with a technique called “Strip Mining”. Is usually obtained throught mineral sources like: -Ilmenite -Titanite - Rutile
5
3.Alloys Titanium alloys are metals which contain a mixture of titanium and other chemical elements. Titanium alloys have: -Tensile strenght -Toughtness -Light weight -Corossion resistance -Resistance to extreme temperatures. Titanium is usually alloyed with small amounts of: Aluminium,Vanadium,Chromium and hydrogen.

4.Uses Titanium is used in a lot of purposses. Some of them are: -Is used in hip joints because it’s extremely strong and it has low weight.
7
4. Uses It’s used in hulls of ships because it has excelent resistance to water It’s used to make watches and eyeglasses because it doesn’t rust and it doesn’t cause allergies
8
4.Uses Titanium is used in pipes in nuclear plants sea water for cooling from the view point of corrosion Titanium is used in dental implants because it’s light weight metal and it won’t react with any chemical. Also is used because is combined easily with the real bone.
