2. Background – Psoriasis; an autoimmune skin disease with genetic manifestations is affecting the 3% of world population. – At present, immunotherapy and pharmacotherapies are available as anti-psoriasis therapy; however they end up with excessive side effects with very limited non-curative therapeutic benefits. – Hijamah (as described by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) the best treatment humans can have) could be a safe and effective treatment for Psoriasis.

3. Objective – The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of regular Hijamah sessions in psoriatic patients. – In this case study, a young individual who acquired Psoriasis accidently and have used different medication for its treatment was selected for the Hijamah. – Notably, this patient was already informed by the physicians that the treatment will remain symptomatic rather than curative for this disease

4. Methodology, Results and Discussion – The hijamah therapy was started on the patient and the photographs of the affected parts (before and after each Hijamah sessions) of the skin were obtained. – The treatment plan was decided with the consent of the patient as one session every week for total 7 weeks. After every Hijamah sessions, the efficacy of the therapy was evaluated. – AlhamduLILLAH, the healing of the lesion was clearly visible right after 2 days of the first session. After 2 more sessions (total three Hijamah sessions), the lesion disappeared to a negligible count showing high effectiveness of this novel therapy. – Improved natural immunity along with decreasing the serum level of anti-bodies and other psoriatic inflammatory factors by Hijamah therapy might be the scientific reason behind this remarkable clinical outcome.

24. – Clinical outcome of our study gives insight that Hijamah is highly effective in Psoriasis therapy with no significant side effects. – We believe that there is a high possibility of beneficial therapeutic effect of this novel technique in other non- curable autoimmune diseases as well.
