7 Unit 1 - Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism Unit 2 – Hospitality Soft Skills Unit 3 – Operational Areas –Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Finance Unit 4 – Sales and Marketing Unit 5 – Safety and Security Students will receive a very comprehensive overview of the skills needed to be entry-level employees across all operational areas. NOTE: Year 1 can be taught as a stand-alone curriculum Students will focus on learning the aspects, responsibilities, knowledge, and skills required from the operational perspective of the hospitality and tourism industry.

Used by lodging operations worldwide to train front-line staff Each course has a separate certification exam students can take to earn Professional Certification Designations with lapel pins and certificates for their portfolios

23 Professional Certification Designations Portable, Stackable, International Recognition Each of the 5 “entry-level” programs offered on the Year 1 Media Kit has a separate certification exam the school can order for their students - from EI. –Guest Service Gold® exam is Certified Guest Service Professional. $15.00 per student. –Certified Front Desk Representative, Certified Guestroom Attendant, Certified Restaurant Server, Certified Maintenance Employee exams are each $35.00 per student, per position. These are the same exams and designations offered to industry professionals. *No workplace requirement for Guest Service Gold*

24 Stackable Certification Option Certified Guest Service Professional (CGSP®) Complete Guest Service GOLD® Curriculum included in the Supplemental Media Package within the Student Online Course annual package CGSP® Certification available for purchase at a deeply discounted rate for HTMP students CGSP® offers students the chance to earn an internationally recognized, industry supported professional certification in the first year of the program. There is no workplace requirement for CGSP®.

25 Optional Media Kit Year 2 – Training Modules Only This Media Kit contains only training resources – no additional professional certification. Completes the training programs offered through the Year 1 Media Kit –Supervisory Skill Builders (8 modules, 8-10 hours) –Front Office Manager (complete program, including Module 1 offered in Year 1, 8-10 hours) –General Manager 101 (2 hours) –PCI Compliance Training: Information Technology (1 hour)

26 Year 1 and Year 2 Final Exam Student exams must be proctored by an administrator (guidance counselor, principal, etc.) industry personnel or clergy –Testing may be completed any time after students complete each textbook Certificate of Completion awarded to students who score 70% or higher on the final exam each year. Students who score 90% or higher receive certificate “with honors.”

27 HTMP Curriculum Professional Certification Certified Hospitality & Tourism Management Professional (CHTMP) New professional designation created specifically for graduates of the HTMP program – very specialized knowledge, training, and unique designation Requirements: –Pass both HTMP Year 1 and HTMP Year 2 final exams with a score of 70% or higher –100 hour work experience in qualifying position Qualifying position is defined as working, whether paid or unpaid, in the hospitality industry Hospitality industry is defined by four categories: Accommodations, Food & Beverage, Transportation, or Attractions (see Page 11 of Year 1 text) There is no supervisory level requirement Work requirement can be done over the course of the 2 year program, but must be completed within 120 days (4 months) of taking the Year 2 final exam Students will receive a Workplace Voucher to have their supervisor sign to verify they have completed the 100 hour work requirement Supervisor will also complete a 1-page Evaluation Form to be used as a personal portfolio for the student in order to showcase skills mastered. There is no minimum score requirement for the Evaluation.

28 Certified Hospitality Instructor Teacher Certification Just revised into 2 levels, both offered online Participants receive : –Customized textbook –Access to online instruction content –Examination (required for professional certification) Upon successful completion of both levels and completion of 120 hours of internship, teachers will be awarded the CHI (Certified Hospitality Instructor) certification
