Answer There is a hill in that village that is why it is called “Paharpur”. It is located in the middle of Naogaon district of the North Bengle. It is famous for it’s ralics of the ancient Buddihst monastery. He found the ruins of a square tower while digging it.

Answer Paharpur is an important archaeological site situated in Naogaon.It was excavated many times. Many Universities and archaeologist excavated it.According to their comments it was one of the most famous Buddhist institutions for monks of ancient Bengal and in southern Asia. It was lofty temple built by the second pala king Dharmapala.The Pala rulers were devout Buddhists.
