1 How to show paired data (x,y) on Excel chart By Barbara J. Hampton, J.D., M.L.S. Reference Librarian Ryan-Matura Library, Sacred Heart U.

2 Select data to be used in graph by dragging mouse over rows, columns, highlighting data

3 InsertScatter Graph From Insert tab on ribbon, use Excel’s Scatter Graph tool to show paired data (e.g., y is a function of x)

4 Design Select Data Right click inside graph to select it and activate Design pop-up; choose Select Data to change which is data used in graph

5 Add, Edit, Remove Use Select Data Source pop-up to Add, Edit, Remove, etc.

6 Chart Tools / Design Additional editing functions are available under Chart Tools / Design tab (when graph/chart is active)

7 switch between row & column Design tools include a simple way to switch between row & column data groups
