Gender discrimination, also known as sexual discrimination, is the practice of letting a person's sex unfairly become a factor It most often affects women who feel they have been unfairly discriminated against in favor of a man. Birth histories and census date reveal an unusually high proportion of male births and male children under five in Asia, most notably in India and China, suggesting sex-selecting feticide and infanticide in the world’s two most populous countries, despite initiatives to eradicate these practices in both countries.
