NIHR CLAHRC for South Yorkshire Barnsley Doncaster Rotherham Sheffield National Institute for Health Research Our mission is to undertake, over the next five years, high quality, strategic, applied research and related education in order to enable a ‘step change’ in the way research is delivered and services are designed in South Yorkshire; and to foster knowledge transfer that will improve the quality and effectiveness of health care delivery across South Yorkshire.

NIHR CLAHRC for South Yorkshire Barnsley Doncaster Rotherham Sheffield National Institute for Health Research Stroke Theme: Aims 1.To support strategic commissioning of evidence based stroke services 2.To help promote increased access to preventative services for all through exploration, service development and evaluation 3.To facilitate and promote self management, independence, recreation and employment of persons living with the effects of stroke 4.To help improve public awareness and contribute to a reduction in the incidence of stroke and TIA in the longer term 5.To contribute to the development and evaluation of innovative technologies and new methods of service delivery with the involvement of users and carers.
