How you react to a stressor depends on a few things 1. Is the situation a threat to my well-being 2. Do I have the necessary resources to meet the challenge (time, skills, experience) 3. Your personality

Your personality (mindset, attitudes, behavior, emotions) influences your assessment of a situation Optimism: the tendency to focus on the positive Pessimism: the tendency to focus on the negative Self esteem, confidence, introvert, or extravert Perfectionist: a person who accepts nothing less than excellence

The ability to recover, or “bounce back” from extreme or prolonged stress is called resilience. What are some key factors to being resilient? Family, Friends, realistic goals, problem solving skills, control emotions, communication skills, confidence, strength
