Aims of the Rovinj Workshop To consider how education and training programmes: – Can be delivered effectively (and be optimised?) – Can improve radiation protection in practice – Can disseminate ALARA culture To bring together stakeholders – to exchange practical ideas and experience – to identify further improvements – to produce recommendations

1. ALARA Culture and E&T ALARA Culture – involves ALL stakeholders and all exposure situations, eg – Managers, contractors, supervisors, workers – Regulatory authority, designers and suppliers Education and training – Focus on RPE, MPE and RPO (planned ES) – Focus on academic and technical skills, rather than “soft skills” (leadership, communication, human factors…) Is training optimised?
