2 Dr. Moo Y. Lee is the manager of the Geomechanics Department, Sandia National Laboratories. He has extensive experiences in hydraulic fracturing in situ stress measurements and complex laboratory / numerical simulations of borehole conditions under poly-axial stress conditions. He has been working on cross-cutting issues in geosciences and geoengineering related to nuclear waste disposal, target material characterization, and underground storage of air/hydrocarbon. He received his B.S. degree in Mineral and Petroleum Engineering from the Seoul National University, Korea in 1980. After graduation, he came to the U.S. to begin his graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received his MS and PhD degrees in Mining Engineering specialized in Rock Mechanics and Statistics. Dr. Thomas Dewers’ research interests and experience range from theoretical coupled thermal-mechanical-hydrological-chemical modeling, high temperature-high pressure and rock mechanics experimental methods, field investigations for geomicrobiology and hydrogeology, induced seismicity, and digital geologic mapping. Following graduation from Indiana University where he worked in the Department of Chemistry, with a PhD in 1991, he was a post-doc in the Center for Tectonophysics at Texas A&M. Following this he was a tenure-track and tenured professor at the University of Oklahoma School of Geology and Geophysics for thirteen years. Current research examines elasto-plasticity of pressure sensitive materials, acoustic tomography, aspects of subsurface carbon storage, multiphase flow, laser microscopy, coupled thermal-mechanical-hydrological-chemical model code development, and all things mudstone. Dr. Hongkyu Yoon obtained a PhD degree in Environmental Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign in 2005. He is an expert in characterization of pore topology and surface properties of geomaterials using multi-scale imaging techniques, hydrogeology and fluid mechanics, microfluidic and flow cell experiments, and high-fidelity inverse modeling and uncertainty quantification, specializing in applications of coupled hydrogeological, geochemical and geomechanical processes. As a senior member of technical staff at SNL, his research focuses on unconventional geomaterial characterizations with multi-scale imaging techniques, multiphase fluid flow and reactive transport in porous and fractured media, fluid-rock interactions and chemo-mechanical coupling in natural and engineered environmental systems, and reservoir simulations for thermal-mechanical-hydrological-chemical processes, with applications to geologic carbon storage and unconventional resources recovery. Dr. Peter H. Kobos has been a technical staff member at Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) in Albuquerque, NM since 2003, and is currently an economist in the Earth Systems Department. Peter has a BS in Biology from Hobart College, and both a MS and a Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Economics and Ecological Economics, respectively. He has been a Council Member (2012−2013) and is currently a Vice President – Chapter Liaison (2015) to the U.S. Association for Energy Economics (USAEE). Peter’s research primarily focuses on energy economic issues to assess energy technologies in China, India, the U.S., and technology-specific areas including electricity generation, hydrogen production and use for transportation, CO 2 storage from the electricity sector, and water use in thermoelectric generation. 미국 Sandia National Laboratory 세일가스 연구 세미나, 38 동 323 호, 3 월 19 일 ( 목 ), 2:00-5:00 PM 2/2
