4 This course This course develops an understanding of how organizations work through the contributions of five key business functions Human resources, information, marketing, operations, accounting and finance and how those are integrated.

5 Course Description B202 will help you to develop your knowledge to understand the ways organizations work through the contributions and integration of the five key functions: Marketing, Operations, Human Resources Management, Accounting and Finance, and Information.

6 Your B202 binders Easier way to arrange binders is to Put Blocks 1&2, readings, and case studies in ONE binder (and only bring that binder to class!! ) When we finish blocks 1 &2, pull those blocks OUT of binder and put in Block 3 Keep changing out as we complete blocks so that binder is NOT too heavy. No need whatsoever to bring both binders to campus

7 Remmber that Course guide is only for your information. No need to ever bring to campus. Case studies only need to be brought to class if it is noted as a requirement for that class tutorial

8 How to study ? We will cover 1 section of a block in every tutorial In page 22 in Block 1 see the resources associate with this section match up textbooks with author names Case Studies – there are 3 major case studies that will be covered throughout the course (Manchester airport, air laisaon, and scott bader)

9 How to approach case study analysis 1. Read the case through 2. Understand what you are required to do 3. Re-read the case study again, very carefully. Make brief notes. 4. Start organizing your observations 5. Present your answers logically, using only relevant data
