7 7 Grid Planning and MCB 8 IGI partners (CNR-IMAA, CNR-ITB, ENEA, INAF, INFN, SPACI, UNIPM, UNIPG) have offered to participate in technical planning activities on behalf of their specific user communities. There is also some ongoing general coordination of these efforts. The total effort for this task is around 7 FTEs, most supported directly by the partners. 5 partners (CNR-ITB, ENEA, INAF, INFN, UniNA) have expressed a strong interest in interoperability, in particular with HPC (e.g. MPI). This should be a priority vis a vis the UMD-related activities. Several RESPECT tools: Instrument Element; Virtual Control Room, GRelC; others may be future candidates U-N-6.Development of Services (unfunded) U-N-7.Coordination of Grid Planning U-N-8.Technical Feedback

8 8 User Technical Support Most partners are involved in these activities on a regular basis U-N-9.VO Registration and VO Database U-N-10.Site Validation Tests U-N-11.Core VO Service Provision U-N-12.Help Desk and Direct User Support

14 14 Life Sciences SSC One User Forum Representative and member of the UFSC; if possible, this individual should have assistance by at least a part time representative for each thematic subcluster, for a total of 1.5 or 2 additional FTEs. These people also do coordination. One Grid Planning Officer to participate in the EGI MCB meetings. Possibly assisted by the VO managers (not counted here). 2 FTEs for User Technical Support and other support tasks. A team of 2 FTEs to design and build the Life Sciences Gateway. One web content manager to work with the Gateway team and other information-related tasks. 1 FTEs for coordination of Documentation and Training specific to the LS community. A team of 2 FTEs for Consulting with new communities, Application Porting Support, and to maintain and monitor the Application Database for the Life Sciences.
