2. Subsistence's Food they ate  Buffalo-main source  they collected berries  Deer, moose, elk, wolves, coyotes, lynx, rabbits, gophers, and chickens How they obtained food  Hunted the animals  Kill them with spears

Clothing Types of clothing they would wear Materials they used to make their clothing  Would use the buffalo hide for the robes  Used moose hides to sew together moccasins  The women's dresses were made of two kinds of buckskin  Their coats were made out of deerskin, moose hide, or sometimes only buffalo hide.  buffalo robe was an everyday type of clothing  Would usually add necklaces and belts to add flair  Would wear moccasins as footwear  The women had a regular dress  Hunter and warrior dress’s were worn when it was time to hunt for food, or a battle was occurring.

4. shelter Types of shelter they built  Only one kind  tipi Materials they used to build their shelters  Pieces of wood place together  Buffalo hides were sewn together and then wrapped around the poles

Transportation Forms of transportation that they used  Would usually travel on foot  During the winter they would wear snowshoes  Would also use dogsleds for transporting items  Later on horses were introduces and they were able to hold five times more than dogs  Horses also made it easier for hunting and traveling longer distances Materials they used to build their transportation  Dog sleds were made of  two poles, which crossed at the top and attached to some netting or a single wooden frame

Social organizations and government  The members were divided into four groups  Piegan people, the Blood people, the Blackfoot People and the Tsuu T’ina People  Chiefs would advise on an idea then a council of elders would come to a decision  They had their own systems of government, where each leader had certain powers like the keeper of the whip, or the keeper of the knife

7. Religion  Believed in one god  they believed all animals, plants, trees and stones had spirits  Earth was the mother/creator of all spirits  They could all be prayed to  People who were blessed were called shamans, they were known as healers who have gotten a sign from the holy spirit.

8. contact with other groups  Tribes recognized some others as allies, and others as enemies  They maintained kinship by intermarrying within the other’s tribe  They allied together, and helped each other fight tribes

10. Topography/vegetation and climate  Topography:  To the east there are very high grasses.  To the west there are short grasses  Vegetation: Forests were at the bases of Mountains, hills and rivers  Climate: very cold winters and hot summers
