Dorothy Canfield Fisher Program Join Today!!! First - Read a book from this year’s 2012-13 DCF List. Second - Check in with Ms. Cote to start your DCF card. You’ll keep a list of the DCF books you’ve read. Third - Receive the following: Books 1- 3: Stickers, Tattoo, or Bookmark Book 4 – Sparkly Pencil Book 5 – Free Book

DCF Program Fourth – DCF Discussion Days If you’ve read at least one DCF book and your DCF card is up to date, you’ll receive an invitation to a DCF Discussion during November, February & April (Voting). (Need to keep reading.) We’ll meet during study hall or Activity Period to talk about DCF and non-DCF books, enjoy an activity and have some snacks. Fifth - Vote in the spring for your favorite DCF book. You need to have read at least 2 DCF books to vote. We’ll have snacks at the voting…of course! 2 Books = ADL Vote; 5 Books = Vermont Vote

The Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children's Book Award The DCF Award was first awarded in 1957. It’s the 2 nd oldest child-selected award in the country. Six volunteers choose thirty books published the previous year. Books are chosen for their quality and appeal to 4 th -8 th grade students. The winning author is invited to Vermont to receive the award. The program award continues to promote Ms. Fisher's goal of encouraging reading.
