At least 18 dams have breached or failed in South Carolina since Saturday. In South Carolina, seven people drowned and four died in traffic accidents due to the extreme weather conditions. The flooding is far from over as many rivers have not yet crested. Thus far the dam failures and heavy rains have caused billions of dollars in damage.

In Other News American Airlines pilot Michael Johnston, 57, was flying a plane between Phoenix and Boston when he fell ill somewhere enroute. The co-pilot landed the jet safely. Johnston was later pronounced dead. An autopsy and preliminary toxicology tests "showed that the death was the result of natural diseases." McDonald's is now serving breakfast all day. After beginning the year 1-3, Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin has been fired. Elvis Presley's gold-leaf grand piano is expected to fetch more than half a million dollars at a November auction that will also feature a Beatles logo drum skin used by the British group in their first performances in the United States.
