Liver Pigments and supporting signs that draw us to the Liver Zone

 A beautiful example of Liver signs in a right iris. Look at the transversal running from the iris edge right through the liver and gallbladder zone and the contraction furrows also showing quite brightly in the area.  This person needs to cleanse their liver with these supporting signs in evidence and the yellowed ANW and darker skin zone all found in the Liver zone is backing this up quite dramatically.

Blood values Cold application Hot application

Strength of stimulus  Individual  Constitution  Thermal condition  Mental state/psyche  Age  Sex  Family history

Strength of treatment  Temp of application - cold Rx’s in a.m. take Pt longer to heat up, so no large cold Rx’s in a.m  Location and size of application  Time and duration of treatment - less effect in a.m. than evening  Additives. .

 Please be kind to people with a delicate ANW. They are often sensitive souls and their bodies do not like to be shocked with extreme hot and cold fluctuations.  Start off the Hydrotherapy programme with warm to tepid fluctuations.

 This type of ANW is able to ‘endure’ temperature fluctuations more readily than its more delicate cousins.

 Always be aware of the age, health status and physical resilience of the person to whom you are recommending Hydrotherapy protocols.  As an Iridologist, you a blessed to be able to see through public personas, you can see the real THEM – the tough parts and the delicate parts.

 Best treatment uses minimum strength to give good reaction – individual and type of Rx

If you give this person a Naturopathic routine to follow they will probably follow it to the letter and then overdo it! “If a 60 second cold shower is good then surely a 10 minute freezing shower will do me even more good – faster”!!!! Reign this constitution in a bit because Hydrotherapy doesn’t work this way. Less is more with Hydrotherapy. Neurogenic

Opposite to the Neurogenic Constitution in drive and ‘over doing things’ is the LCT constitution. Give this constitution a routine to follow and they may do it for a few days and then lapse when the novelty factor has waned! Support and encouragement is the key here until they start to feel the benefits of the treatment programme. Be fully aware that they will still probably lapse from the programme, but when they feel worse again they will make a more concerted effort to keep it up.

Basics  A reheating stage of 1-15 mins. must occur after cold applications  Warm ¾ or full baths should be followed by a short cold application and bed rest for ½-1 hour  Short cold treatments are followed by active exercise  Allow 1- 4 hour interval between larger applications and meals

WASHINGS/LAVATIONS  The application of water to the body by hand/cloth - linen/mitten  Light applications – mildest and simplest  Not too strong in effect  Good for weak constitutions, fevers,  Tonic & stimulant effect  Best in a.m. upon arising  Some techniques include light rubbing, e.g. cold mitten friction  Additives e.g. salt, lavender, vinegar  Balances autonomic nervous system  E.g.’s cold towel.

AFFUSIONS  The application of water (Kneipp usually cold) by gentle stream to various parts of the body  Kneipp used cold water, but ONLY to generate heat  Knee, legs, arms, upper and lower body, hips, complete body, etc.

AFFUSIONS  Include barefoot dew walking, snow walking, water treading

SHOWERS  Application of water at intermediate pressure  Good for home use  Cold – tonic  Warm/hot – sedative  Alternating

WET PACK (compresses)  Application of cold (compress) or hot wet towelling/linen (fomentation) to the body, surrounded by an insulating layer  Most parts of the body can be treated: arm/hand, lower leg, whole leg, head, neck, chest whole body  Best example – cold sheet treatment

WET PACKS ctd.  Cold stimulate circulation, increase metabolism, sedate, reduce fevers and improve sleep  Warm/hot relieve muscle cramps, colic and are analgesic e.g. hot towel treatment

WET PACKS ctd  Additives may be used  Quark wraps for varicose veins, skin.  Haysack – favourite of Kneipp – used for arthritis, skin, inflammation of respiratory system and colic.  Crushed potato or linseed pulp may be used!
