Dear Student, We would like to cordially invite you to Homework Huddle, where you can work on homework without disruption. Teachers will be there to help you if you have questions and your siblings won’t be there to distract you. Homework Huddle will be held Monday through Thursday in the cafeteria from 2:45 to 3:45pm. The HMS Library Collection The Highlands Middle School Library contains over 10,000 books! Contains both a nonfiction and fiction section, along with reference. Procedure Any student, 6 th through 8 th can check out any 2 books for a period of 2 weeks. After these two weeks, books can be renewed for another 2 weeks. In order to come into the library before school, you must first go to the central office and get a Library Pass. After getting a pass, place the pass in the bin and sign in on the sign-in sheet.

The HMS Library Damaged/Lost If a book is lost, every day that it is not returned could result in a cumulative fine of ten cents per day. If a book is damaged and cannot be returned, you must pay the school the sum of money equal to the cost of the book. Collaboration Stations In the library, there are 6 collaboration stations. In each station, there is a station with an Airplay display, allowing a student to display their screen on the television.

The HMS Library Green Room & Printers In the back of the Library there is a green room, which allows students to film videos and skits on their computers. There are several printers within the Library If you want to color-print something, put it on a flash drive and give it to Mrs. Walberg or Mrs. Griffith Reference Books References books are located in the reference section of the library References books are not normal books, and can only be held overnight The fee for an overdue book is 25 cents per day instead of 10 cents
