Interesting Facts o Roof structures are precast concrete panels supported by precast concrete ribs, not shells in a strictly structural sense. Though the shells appear uniformly white from a distance, they actually feature a subtle chevron pattern composed of 1,056,006 tiles in two colors: glossy white and matte cream. o There is a total of 1,000 rooms in the Sydney Opera House. o The first person to perform at the Sydney Opera House was Paul Robeson - in 1960, he sang Ol' Man River to the construction workers as they ate lunch.
