Potential project that could be developed across the South West that will provide mutual benefit to Patients, Public Health and Private sector.

Demonstrating our Values of ‘Integrity’ and ‘Customer focus’ through transparent processes To support the transparent nature of our activities we separate our promotional from our non-promotional activities and evaluate success very differently. We have a wide range of well developed solutions which can be flexed to local needs and delivered in partnership or we can collaboratively develop new programmes as appropriate. In line with the ABPI, Pfizer clearly defines activities as: Promotional activity “ which promotes the prescription, supply, sale or administrator of [our] medicines.” 1 These activities ultimately drive appropriate usage of Pfizer medicines Non-promotional activities “which are designed to enlarge to market in a particular therapeutic area,” 1 and therefore support and develop the environment in which all medicines are used

Smoke Free SW - partnership working with Private sector Local retail workers & receptionists, sent pillow-pack invite, with text registration. Facebook page with advertising targeting females 20-35 yrs Free manicures and cessation advice with the opportunity to sign up to LSSS and receive a free beauty bag Posters and signage to the event were visible in store prior to the event Radio Promotions on Heart and Orchard FM and PR in

Lung Age Testing Piloted the use of lung age as a way of increasing the motivation of smokers to quit Supported the development of a business case to gain PCT agreement Matched funding of £5000 to pay for vitalographs and training of pharmacists Provided project management and data analysis support Average quit rate increased from 45% to 63% as a result of lung tests carried out. Increased footfall into the NHS Stop Smoking Service. 126 patients were tested, diagnosed and had access to appropriate medicines. Patients NHS Pfizer

Joint project between Pfizer and East of England SHA Purpose was to link with the SHA to help them to deliver on their strategy to access hard to reach groups EoE provided the staff and disposables Pfizer provided the bus and fuel So far 13,000 heath screenings performed, forecast to deliver 25,000 in 31 weeks. In Herts in 10 days: 402 smokers set a quit date 241 Lung age checks 52 referrals with abnormal FEV1 (approx 60% likely to have a need for medication) Earlier healthcare intervention will lead to fewer admissions. Next Steps SFSW and Pfizer wish to work this idea up into a realistic project to roll out across SW with the NHS We would like individuals from PH to be involved in this project development.
