5. Elude Ex. Sentence: “I was trying to find the meaning the poet had in mind, but it eluded me.” VERB Definition: escape, either physically or mentally

6. Bewildered Ex. Sentence: “His eyes were closed, but when the door shut behind me he opened them, and I suddenly wondered if my own eyes looked as feverish and bewildered as his.” ADJECTIVE Definition: confused, overwhelmed
