YOUR IDEAS? Your thoughts on your ideal PhUn Week Outreach Event in November 2009 1.What do you want your PhUn Week outcome(s) be? 2.What grade level(s) are you thinking of visiting? 3.What kind of visit, presentation, and/or activities (e.g., assembly, classroom presentation, hands-on experiment, demonstration, or others) do you envision? 4.What is your connection to the school (or the physiologist)? 5.Any additional thoughts? 6.What questions do you have?
41
1.Consider your area of specialty in physiology. Can an aspect of that be developed into an outreach activity? How? At what grade levels (elementary, middle, high school)? 2.Regardless of your research focus, what kinds of physiology- related activities do you think can inspire children’s interest in science and careers in physiology? 3.What do you think are the most pressing needs in science education at the elementary, middle, and/or high school levels? 4.Any additional thoughts? Your brainstorm thoughts on future PhUn Week themes?
