Agenda/Announcements HW/ Coming up: Nothing Goal(s): To practice social skills, get to know each other, know what your role in the group will be, where your group will always sit, and familiarize yourselves with different views about causes of behavior. To be able to explain and provide examples of each of the six contemporary approaches to psychology. 1.Pick up the bell work handout from the side counter before the bell rings. Get started on the bell work right away. 2.Do NOT turn in your main ideas chart just yet… To Do As You Walk In: Candy Friday! Will your class qualify? Some General Reminders Do NOT use a full sheet of paper for the thought of the day Bell Work Time Completely quiet time ○ Stay silent from bell until the ringer on the slide stops ○ always read the slide fully before beginning on bell work ○ Do not ask me questions about anything but the bell work during bell work time ○ Stay after class for questions (I will give you a pass if you will need one for your next class) OR ask them during group work time in class No other time for this!!!

Today’s Roles for Each Group Member for Psych I Group Activity Red- Recorder… The Recorder takes notes summarizing team discussions and decisions, and keeps all necessary records. Blue- Reporter… The Reporter reports the small group’s work to the whole class. Silver- Timekeeper… The Timekeeper keeps track of the time and makes sure that the group finishes their task on time. Green- Gatekeeper… The Gatekeeper makes sure that everyone is on task. Yellow(s)- Main Facilitator… The Main Facilitator leads the discussion, making sure that everyone within the group is participating. Someone not here- you all take over his/her job

Get into your Psych I groups Weren’t placed yet? Come see me after everyone starts getting into groups Remember- your group will always be in the same spot! Move desks towards one another first. Start working on the Bomb Shelter assignment right away! ○ Write all your names on the sheet! ○ Questions on the back you have to answer! ○ Also, if you didn’t on Friday, finish up the group activity from Friday!!! Psychology Clinic Brochure Instructions 1. Work individually or with one other person. 2. Follow the instructions given on the sheet. 3. You can listen to music. 4. Materials needed will always be on the side counter. 5. Place instructions handouts and materials on top of the counter once done. 6. Help others, work on extra credit readings, or stay pretty quiet until everyone done. 7. Don’t finish it? It’s homework- due Tuesday! 8. Do NOT turn in the completed brochure until Tuesday!
