2012 Conference Building a Secure World Through International Education UC Davis New Initiatives: A Vision of Excellence Enter the ranks of the top 5 public universities in the U.S. – Currently 9th Raise 1 billion dollars from 100,000 donors – The Campaign for UC Davis launched October 2010 – $750 million raised by January 1, 2012. Increase the number of students and faculty – 2020 Initiative launched September 2011 – Add 5,000 undergraduate students (a significant proportion will be international) and increase the number of graduate students. – Add 300 new tenure-track faculty positions. Maintain financial stability, affordability and accessibility – Incentive-based budget model proposed—fall 2012 implementation. – Implementation of Campus Shared Service Center – Study group composed of faculty, staff and students
