….in everyday language : Citizens have a role to play and a word to say. Let’s try it. We belong to the same community. Let’s learn to know who are « we ». The European Union is there for Europeans. Let’s make it clear that it is our Union. Our ways of living might be very different…. But let’s learn to live and work together.

Reflection and debate on Europe… Action 2: Active civil society for Europe approximately 31% of total budget 1.Structural support (Operating grants) to European Think tanks and to European level civil society organisations : annual / multiannual 2.Support to transnational projects

Visible Europe… Action 3: Together for Europe approximately 10% of total budget High visibility events Studies, surveys and opinion polls Information and dissemination tools "Europe for Citizens" points

Remember the past, build the future... Action 4: Active European Remembrance approximately 4% of total budget The main sites and memorials associated with mass crimes by Nazism and Stalinism. Archives documenting those events. The memory of the victims of Nazism and Stalinism. And the memory of those who rescued people from the Holocaust

Permanent themes 1. Future of the European Union and its basic values 2. Active European Citizenship: participation and democracy in Europe 3. Inter-cultural dialogue 4. People’s well being in Europe: employment and social cohesion 5. Impact of EU policies in societies

"Valorisation" Each project is encouraged to disseminate its results Certain categories of projects will ensure visibility and sustainability. Ex. thematic networking Certain organisations will have a specific role to play. Ex. intermediaries, networks… Commission plays active role at programme level
