5 National Science Week 13-23 August 2016 Hunter Science Festival - $10,000 to Hunter Science Hub Based on past attendance, 6,000+ people expected to attend Displays from Hunter Science Hub members, including ME Satellite events: o workshops, demonstrations and talks o a walking tour hosted by the Geological Survey of New South Wales o live drone demonstrations o medical research tour and public seminar by Hunter Medical Research Institute Wider reach through the Electric Vehicle Grand Prix, funded by National Science Week

Ecology, art, citizen science, microphotography Cowra Cabonne Science Hub Code Rangers, MODFab 3D printing, BIG Ideas for BIG Careers New England North West Science Hub Far out science film festival, ecology in residence program Illawarra Science Hub Theatre: Ghost Of Courtney Puckey Salt Maker Extraordinaire Macarthur Science Hub Jurassic Gardens, virtual Gondwanan creatures app Western Sydney Science Hub Penrith schools fair and uni visit Shoalhaven Science Hub Exploring medieval climate conditions via palaeohydrology and art

9 Moving towards Innovation and Science Hubs Extending reach into STEM Science Hubs will be encouraged to include ICT and innovation in the mix Where are the regional maker spaces? Get libraries, museums, galleries and existing public facilities involved in STEM program delivery Collaborating with IT sector How might Science Hubs partner with IT/start up communities? How can Science Hubs bring coding & robotics experiences into public facing events? Councils/ business chambers may like to partner with Science Hubs to promote STEM & entrepreneurship
