2 Seventh Grade German Frau Teri Jacob Fifteen years at Sperreng Two years in Seventh grade Two years in Sixth grade Eleven years in Eighth grade Fifth year at Truman teaching 6-8 th grade Modern Language Department Chair BA from Knox College MA from Maryville University Have spent over three years living in Germany

3 Program Seventh grade is the first third of level one German. Students will: develop language comprehension, practice the language orally and in writing, expand their conversational abilities, and be presented with more complex grammar structures.

4 Program Students will meet every other day for the duration of the year. Last year in 6 th grade, German was part of the exploratory class, World Cultures, and students had little to no homework. However, this year in 7 th grade it is an academic subject, although it is offered during electives.

5 Program Students will have homework several times a week in addition to quizzes, projects, speaking and writing assessments, and chapter tests. Since German is an alternating day class, it is important that students review vocabulary and grammar concepts daily in order to maintain the level of fluency expected in 7 th grade. I recommend spending 10 minutes reviewing German vocabulary on the days that students do not have German class. This can be done using the textbook, their German binder, or my website.
