Is a commercially run symposium through East Barnby Outdoor Centre, it would be great to team up with other organisations. June 15 th this year. Usually attracts 30- 40 paddlers. The main content is journeying with additional aspects of expeditioning eg fishing, cooking, effective long term paddling, navigation on the move, incident management. This year they would also like to incorporate Greenland paddling. Looking for a venue near ColdinghamBay as the opportunities for different venues - surf, sheltered, exposed, islands etc. Sea Kayak Expedition Gathering

Huge interest in Greenland paddling in the world of sea kayaking (largely by passing the north east). Bjoern Backe of Wansbeck Paddle Sports Club is acting as a link to Mike Holgate (http://qaqajuk.org) to host a Greenland Coaches Gathering – August 1-3 2014. Hoping that coaches will meet together to learn from each other and possibly develop a structure to promote and coach Greenland paddling.http://qaqajuk.org This follows on from very successful paddle making sessions and Bjoern is willing to teach others to coach Greenland paddling before August. Amongst other things access to pool sessions over the weekend would be helpful. Greenland Paddling
12
Hope to develop a surf fest and a competition as part of the ongoing Surf strategy. Some elements may be impossible due to Canoe England lack of support for surf – particularly relating to awards and coaching. Possible link to SCA as way forward. Surf
