2 Floyd County Early College Academy Admissions Process Enrollment in the Academy is open to all our students and is a competitive process. Acceptance is based upon an eight part scoring rubric or guide that is heavily weighted toward academic performance and attendance. We believe that students who can demonstrate past academic success and who realize the importance of being in school every day have the best chance for success in the demanding academy environment. Applications will be scored by a scoring committee comprised of FCS staff. Here’s an overview of the values. 15 Floyd County Early College Academy Additional Opportunities of the Academy One placement will be reserved for an Academy student in the University of Pikeville School of Osteopathic Medicine. Academy Students who become certified teachers in the areas of Math, Science, Foreign Language, and Special Education/Moderate & Severe Disabilities and are hired to teach in Floyd County Schools will be reimbursed for tuition costs up to $3000 per year for five years. Each year our goal is to take Academy students on one international or national educational trip. University of Pikeville offers a 2,500 scholarship to any FCECA grad.
